Festival of Sport & Recreation

13 September 2017

BE INSPIRED! Spearheaded by the Upper Clutha Sports Community - this one stop ‘Have a Go’ expo is
designed for all community members and is brought to you by local clubs, organisations and the business community. Ever wondered what sporting and recreational activities are on offer in our community; when and where they take place; and who to contact to get involved?

Are you one of the 65% of NZ adults who want to get more involved in sport or recreation but don’t know
where to start?

Would you like to be entertained by the crazy challenges being hosted? The Mitre10 Mighty10 Tug of War; The Subway Speed Eating; The Kahu Youth ‘Dye Dash’ colour run; Dob in a ‘Star’; the pop up
Squash court; and even a piece of theatre.

All these questions will be answered at the Festival of Sport and Recreation being held on Saturday the 23rd September from 9.00am – 1.00pm at the new Wanaka Recreation Centre.

The Festival covers four arenas:

• The Print It Display Court with over 30 club and business booths indoors.
• The Central Lakes Physio Activities Court with interactive activities indoors every half hour.
• The Health 2000 Indoor KidsZone with four cute booths and indoor play spaces for the young.
• The Papworth Financial Advisors interactive activities and challenges covering three outdoor courts, the lawn and food spaces.

Fun! Whether it involves hitting, jumping, throwing, kicking, climbing, swinging, tumbling, pulling or
knowledge – there is something for all!

A full event’s programme will be in The Messenger next week.
