Calling All Grandparents & Grandkids!
The young and young-at-heart are invited to spend some quality time together at Wanaka Recreation
Centre for another grandparents and grandkids activity morning on 24 January 2018.
The first session held in October last year was a huge success with more than 50 locals enjoying intergenerational fun with sports and games including table tennis, badminton and walking netball.
Penny Batchelor, QLDC team leader at Wanaka Recreation Centre, said it was back again by popular
demand. “Everyone had such a good time and we’ve had several requests for another session. All the games are low-impact to allow everyone to get involved, no matter what your ability or energy levels!” she said.
“With the school holidays coming to an end it’s a great opportunity for people of all ages to get together in a safe, active environment. And it’s not just for relatives – feel free to bring along an older friend or neighbour and spend time getting to know people from a different generation.”
The activity morning will run from 10am – 12pm on Wednesday 24 January at Wanaka Recreation Centre, Sir Tim Wallis Drive (off Ballantyne Road), Three Parks. Cost – which includes morning tea – is $5 per older/younger pair plus $2 for any additional friends or family members.
You can just turn up on the day but confirming attendance in advance would be appreciated for catering purposes. Please call the Recreation Centre on 443 9334 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
