Catch Me If You Can.
The cheques are forged! The stage is set! Have you got your tickets yet?
Mount Aspiring College students are counting down the sleeps now to ‘Catch Me If You Can’. This year’s musical is an extravaganza of acting, song, dance, music, props and costume with students (and their staff supporters) rising to the challenge of putting on this polished and entertaining production.
The musical is a precursor of the 2002 film of the same name, about the life of precocious teenager Frank Abignale Jr., who successfully poses as a pilot, a doctor and a lawyer - living the high life and winning the girl of his dreams. You might remember Tom Hanks and Leonardo di Caprio were pretty good in their roles. But you ain’t seen nothing yet!
Director Emily McRae says, “Working with the cast and crew on this show has been a fantastic adventure. Their focussed and passionate effort is the key to success. I am so proud of the effort of all those involved in this production.” She is also grateful for the community support and the generosity of sponsors.
Catch the magic of the MAC students in performance at the Lake Wanaka Centre from 9th-12th May. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tickets ($25/$20 adults and $20/$10 students plus a limited amount of $10 opening night special tickets) are available from Pembroke Wines (cash only) and the school office and are expected to sell out beforehand. So, you’ve guessed it - catch them while you can!
