Dean's Bank 10 Hour!

16 September 2020

For the ninth year running, Bike Wanaka are heralding in the bike season with the Deans Bank 10 Hour, this Labour Weekend, Sunday 25 October. The club is stoked to have Dunlop Builders supporting this major fundraiser and community event for a third year.

Race on the purpose built 11km(ish) loop track in a relay team of up to 5. Race it solo, or if you fancy a sleep in, ride the solo 5 hour race. For some this is a chance to do some serious racing with great prizes up for grabs, and for all it is a fun, social day out. Teams get to set their camp up for the day, enjoy great company, great riding, food and music. Racers Edge are the official bike mechanics for 2020 and will be set up in the race village to sort out mechanical issues and talk bike.

The ‘School Teams’ is back again this year, so if you are still in school, get a team together - either all guys, all girls, or mixed. From age 12+ although anyone under 16 needs to get in touch first.

Are you a tradie? Make up a work team and enter the ‘The Dunlop Builders Tradies Challenge’. Arguably the most fun, yet competitive division (details on the entry page).

Once again, Wanaka Kids Club will be hosting the kids races. Last year over a 100 kids showed up for a morning of fun racing, balance bikes to 12 year olds – not to be missed.

The Deans Bank 10 Hour is Bike Wanaka’s major annual fundraiser and this year we are digging deep to fund the new bike park at Lake Hawea, and to start track building at Kirimoko (Old Sticky).
