Wanaka Upper Clutha Lions Christmas Cake Fundraiser

28 October 2020

Upper Clutha Lions are already thinking Christmas, with the arrival of their bulk order of the traditional and popular Lions Christmas Cakes. Packaged in attractive Christmas boxes, they sell for $20 each.

Made by Goodman Fielder to an exclusive recipe for NZ Lions Clubs, the 1.2kg cakes are full of fruit and very tasty with that traditional flavour.

The cakes make great Christmas gifts for employees, friends and family, or for a kind neighbour you want to say thank you to.

Available now from Lions members or phone Lorraine on 027 4737 813, or cash purchase at The Community Hub, McDougall Street.

As a club, Upper Clutha Lions are passionate about giving back and supporting the local community. Money raised from the cake sales will go towards youth projects, which include sponsoring two Mt Aspiring College students to go on a Leadership Course at Borland Lodge. Individuals and groups are welcome to apply for sponsorship to attend Outward Bound, sail the Spirit of Adventure, sports events, educational seminars and the like.

Club activities range from catering, lily bulb sales, cheese rolls making, to a Club trip to Riverstone Castle. The recently held Quiz Night raised a generous donation for the local M!NT Charitable Trust.

New members are always welcome.

The continued support of the Upper Clutha Community is much appreciated.
